WOLFFORTH CHAMBER BBQ COOK-OFF 

RULES AND REGULATIONS 

IBCA SANCTIONED AND JUDGED 

1.      Only one (1) entry per pit. 

2.      Teams will consist of a head cook and team members. 

3.      Any and all meat(s) that may be entered into judging will be cooked from scratch within the constraints of the event.  Pre-cooking, marinating, etc. will not be allowed prior to start of cook-off, as defined by the cook-off promoter. 

4.      Fires must be wood or charcoal.  Pit may include gas or electricity to start natural substance, but not to complete cooking.  Holes or open pits are not permitted.  Fires may not be built on the ground.  Each team must bring an operational fire extinguisher. 

5.      Props, trailers, motor home vehicles, tents and other equipment may not exceed the boundary of the contestants’ assigned space.  No tent stakes may be driven into asphalt. 

6.      Set-up begins at 12:00 p.m., Friday, July 29th, with check-in at 7:00 p.m.  Cooks’ meeting will be held on Saturday, July 30th, at 8:00 a.m., in the judging area.  Head cooks must attend.  Based on the number of cooks, turn-in quantities are subject to change.  No garnish or sauce is allowed in the turn-in tray.  Teams may cook with sauce, but it cannot be ladled onto meat at the turn-in. 

7.      It is the responsibility of the contestant to see that the contest area is kept clean and that area is policed and cleaned following the contest.  All fires must be extinguished, all props and equipment removed, and all trash placed in appropriate containers. 

8.      Excessive use of alcoholic beverages may be grounds for disqualification.  Alcoholic beverage rules must be followed (example:  pour in cups).  Under no circumstances are alcoholic beverages to be distributed to the general public by contestants.   

9.      NO extra vehicle shall be allowed in the pit area once pit is set up.  Motor home is considered as one (1) vehicle. 

10.  IBCA judging rules will apply. 

11.  No scooters, golf carts, bicycles, or 4-wheelers allowed. 

12.  Quiet time is at 10:00 p.m.
